This well-worn Carl Jung quote embodies the notion that as humans we have deep-seated beliefs and parts of our personalities that we're not aware of that are controlling the events of our life.
WHAT THAT MEANS IS:
Your brain is wired to keep you alive.
Your brain wants you to be comfortable.
Your brain wants to keep you safe.
That's why when you're embarking on something you haven't done before your brain will do anything to sabotage your progress to keep you safe. It will hit the 'Oh SH** alarm.'
You see, the unknown can be a scary place for your brain. And, it relies on those old automatic programs that will keep you in a state that is familiar (regardless of how painful) and either help or hinder your success/progress.
The good news is that when you embrace the role of the subconscious (unconscious) mind and explore those patterns and bring them into your consciousness you can transform the old patterns and create new ones.
That sounds pretty simple, right?
Well, when you know you're ready to level up you will have to put in the work to get lasting results but it's worth the effort.
